Silvana Tabares (born 1979)[1] is a member of the Chicago City Council from the 23rd ward.[2] Prior to her June 15, 2018 appointment to the City Council, she served in the Illinois House of Representatives representing the 21st district since first being sworn into office in January 2013. The 21st district includes all or parts of the Chicago neighborhoods of Archer Heights, Brighton Park, Garfield Ridge, McKinley Park, South Lawndale and the Lower West Side along with the nearby suburbs of Stickney, Forest View, Lyons, Riverside, Summit and Bedford Park.[3][4]
