Juliana Stratton (née Wiggins) is an American politician who has served as a Democratic member of the Illinois House of Representatives since January 2017. She represents the 5th district, and is the Democratic nominee for Lieutenant Governor of Illinois in the 2018 election.
Biography
Stratton earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and a Juris Doctor from DePaul University.[2] Stratton has been the director for the Center for Public Safety and Justice at the University of Illinois at Chicago since July 2015. Prior to that, she was the executive director at Cook County Justice for Children and president of a mediation services company.
In 2016, Stratton challenged Ken Dunkin for the fifth district seat in the Illinois House of Representatives. She defeated Dunkin.[3]
On August 9, 2017, Stratton was announced as J. B. Pritzker's running mate in the 2018 gubernatorial election.[4]
Stratton is the mother of three children and lives in Bronzeville.[5]
