The Sakthan Thampuran Private Bus Stand, Thrissur, is the third largest private bus station in Kerala, India (after Vyttila Mobility Hub and Kannur Central Private Bus Stand) and is located at the southern part of the Thrissur city. It is the origin point of buses proceeding towards Thripryar, Kanjani, Cherpu), Kozhikode, Kunnamkulam, Guruvayoor, Chavakkad, Kuttippuram, Kodungallore, Irinjalakuda, Ollur, Peechi, Palakkad, Manjeri, Perinthalmanna. History

The southern private bus stand is named after the ruler Sakthan Thampuran and is in Shaktan Thampuran Nagar, which is also named after him. Shaktan Thampuran Private Bus Stand is situated in one of the most important commercial areas of Thrissur city. Earlier, the place which is now called Shaktan Thampuran Nagar was a vast paddy field. Due to the arrival of Pope John Paul II in Thrissur, the paddy field was converted to this form. Now it has become a major commercial hub of Kerala.
