Sarazanmai (Japanese: さらざんまい) is a Japanese original anime television series created by Kunihiko Ikuhara. The series is scheduled to premiere in April 2019. A spinoff manga by Misaki Saitō is running in Gentosha's Rutile magazine and online.

Production and release

The series was announced on March 6, 2018 during a Revolutionary Girl Utena marathon on streaming service Niconico. The series will be directed by Kunihiko Ikuhara and animated by MAPPA and Lapin Track. The original story is credited to "Ikunirappa", similar to how Ikuhara' previous directorial work, Yurikuma Arashi, was credited to "Ikunigomamonaka".[1] Character designs for the series are done by illustrator Migi.[2] The series will premiere in April 2019, and will be broadcast on Fuji TV during the Noitamina programming block.[3]

Manga

A spinoff manga by Misaki Saitō, titled Reo to Mabu: Futari wa Sarazanmai (レオとマブ~ふたりはさらざんまい~, lit. "Reo and Mabu: We are Sarazanmai") launched in Gentosha's Rutile manga magazine on May 22, 2018.[2] The manga is published in Rutile on odd-numbered months and on the web comic site Rutile Sweet on even-numbered months.[2]
