Sangeetha Rajeev also known as SaRa is a multilingual Playback singer, composer, Pop icon and performer from India [1] in Indian films. Besides being a performer, she is also an Independent musician who released her latest Hindi Pop single Tu Hi in 2018 and the Kannada version of it Kare(2018). Her first Hindi single Chan Se Udi in 2016 was featured in BBC Asian Network,[2] Pepsi MTV Indies [3] and Radio City (Freedom Radio).[4] With back to back releases of her singles, she is all set to revive the Pop music culture in India. Known for her electrifying yet graceful presence, she is credited with over 1000s of live performances worldwide so far and is a very popular singer in the performance space [5] Her extremely energetic stage performances makes her the most wanted name in the event industry.

Sangeetha Rajeev has been the Jury on Zee TV SaReGaMaPa Little Champs Season 12 & Zee SaReGaMaPa Season 13 a Kannada singing reality show aired on Zee Kannada. She is currently the Jury of Zee SaReGaMaPa Little Champs Season 14.

She started her career from Kannada films. She was introduced to this industry by the music composer Dharma Vish who believed in her talent and made her the voice of 8ne taragathi song from the film Aane Pataaki for which she also won the best playback singer award the same year. She was then introduced to the Tollywood industry by the Kshanam fame music composer Sricharan Pakala, director Shreeranjani and the legendary actor/producer Akkineni Nagarjuna's home production Annapurna Studios. She started her Telugu film career with the superhit film Rangula Ratnam where she sang the Birthday(Tic Toc) song and became the voice of the legendary actress Sithara (actress). She has also sung in the Bollywood film Simply Ek Love Story.

Early life

Sangeetha Rajeev was born in the Silicon Valley of India, Bangalore to a musical family. Her father S Rajeev being a Bank Manager had to shift to Mumbai on an official transfer. She along with her family moved to Mumbai at the age of 6 where she spent most of her childhood. In Mumbai she also got trained in Bharatnatyam by Alpa Pandey and Carnatic classical music from her mother M K Sharadamba.[6] She is also extensively trained in Hindustani classical music by Sri Ananth Bhagwath.

Education

Sangeetha did most of her schooling in Mumbai. Sangeetha is an Information Science Engineering Graduate from Bangalore and worked with a top IT giant. She then moved to England for working there with another UK based company before returning to India to pursue music.[7]

Influences

One of SaRa's early musical influences was her mother herself, M K Sharadamba,[8] who is a Carnatic classical musician. SaRa is highly influenced by western music and considers Mariah Carey & the late great Michael Jackson to be her western influences.[9] Having lived most of her life in Mumbai, she considers herself to be one of the biggest admirers of the Bollywood sensation Sunidhi Chauhan.

She is undoubtedly a Rockstar on stage. She is credited with over 1000s of live concerts in India and around the world. She is known for her elegant stage presence and lively crowd interaction. A bundle of energy who can make anyone dance to her tunes. Femina (India) says : “ The show truly begins when Sangeetha Rajeev takes to the stage. Such is her stage presence that she has the audience dancing literally to her every tune. Rock it like a Lady”. Some of her notable performances include Karnataka Premier League which was aired on Star Sports, Karnataka State Cricket Association, Pro Kabaddi League, Mysore Dasara, Madikeri Dasara, Bidar Utsav, Kadri Cricketers, Bangalore Ganesh Utsava, PEDICON India, Samsung R&D Institute India, Bangalore, Oracle Corporation, Bosch, Toyota, TVS Motor Company, Bangalore Palace, Thomson Reuters, Kannada International Music Awards, International Food Festival, Rotary Clubs and a bunch of corporate events, college gigs, television, radio and media events. She recently performed with Bollywood playback singer Shaan (singer) for the mega launch of the car Toyota Yaris in India.
