San Basile (Arbëreshë Albanian: Shën Vasili) is a town and comune in the province of Cosenza in the Calabria region of southern Italy.
Overview
Languages: Italian and Albanian. [1] Several families from San Basile emigrated to Brazil, Argentina - Sica, Ferraro, Montreal, Quebec, Canada - Sica, Ferarro, and the United States in the beginning of the last century (1900). In Brazil, some of these families established their new life in Rio de Janeiro and developed commercial activities and small industries. Some Brazilian descendants have maintained connections with San Basile.
