He, however, has lied to Jaya that he is poor (because when his father was in college he had also lied to a girl (Jai's mother) whom he loved and after marriage revealed that he is not poor but rich). After college both decide to get married and go to their parents. Jai has a welcome party for Jaya. Meanwhile, at Jaya's house, Jai learns that her father, Lalit Rao Lokhande (Sharad Ponkshe) abhors the rich. He devises an elaborate ruse to play the part of a poor man and comes up with a fake mother Miss Monica Malpani, their innocent and boastful neighbour (Rakhee Tandon), fake sister Urmila, a sales girl, (Urmila Tiwari), fake caretaker 'Daima' KK Paramveer Chopra's friend's daughter and his personal assistant (Priya Raina) and his best friend Deepak Tijori (Gaurav Dubey) acts as sage uncle. Jai constructs a fake poor house beside his mansion with different door to enter from one house to another. Jaya, Lokhande and his servant Sudhakar (Amish Tanna) arrive at their house. Lokhande is impressed with Jai's family and start to live there. But during there stay the family have to lie a lot to hide their secret. Soon Jai and Jaya are married but during the ceremony Lokhande finds himself in the mansion and gets to know about the lies but when he tries to stop the marriage, he gets hit by a coconut due to Sudhakar's clumsiness and forgets the incident. Now his married life seems to be going okay but Jai still wishes he could tell the truth. One day Lokhande and Sudhakar leave for the forest and Jaya is at home were she over hears Jai and KK talk about Jai's companies. Jaya, heartbroken and confused, tries to further investigate the truth. She disguises as a maid and get to know about their secret but Jai gets to know about her disguise and catches her. Jaya reveals herself to the family and leaves. Meanwhile, Lokhande and Sudhakar are in captivity of some tribals. After that Sudhakar has been forcefully made to marry the chief's daughter 'Jimnak Jhimkari' (Shruti Rawat) and are now on their way to the house. Jaya starts packing her bag while Jai tries to stop her but, Jaya falls from the stairs and becomes unconscious. Jai quickly carries her to a hospital as Lokhande enters.
They soon learn that Jaya has amnesia and has left the hospital and is at Lokhande's ashram and has forgotten everything and only remembers events of 2012. Lokhande brings her back to Jai's house and has to lie with Jai's family to Jaya that she is still in the year 2012. The after,Jai tries to convince Jaya into marrying him but she refuses and also refers to Jai as mendhak(frog). But Jai uses Gyanchand Mahabapu (who is none other than Deepak) to convince Jaya to marry Jai. Though Jai tries hard to please her like before jaya is still unwilling to marry jai because of her doubts about jai and his family. In a series of new events however when jaya agrees to marry jaiveer, the plan flops as gyanchand/deepak mistakenly fix the wedding date to be in 2018 when jaya is still living in the year 2012. The plot moves forward with Jai and Jaya sharing a few romantic moments but Lokhande discovers the truth that Jai and his family are rich.Even as a climax arises in which the Chopras are scared that their truth is finally going to be exposed Jaiveer finds out that the real lokhande has been kidnapped and the plotter is an imposter. The real Lokhande embraces Jai and Jaya thanks him but the web of lies begin again.Meanwhile lokhande is suffering from a sleep related condition that the chopras mistakenly consider to be his death.Jai is shattered to hear his father in law aka Lokhande is now no more but realises their mistaken predicament after Lokhande is himself revived and clears the air about his condition.Later jaya finds out that jai is lying along with deepak and the comedy turns serious with jaya trying to call the police and get jai arrested. Lokhande unable to tolerate jaya's rudeness and arrogance towards jai gets infuriated and reveals the truth in a shocking climax that jaiveer is her husband and she's the one suffering from memory loss because of which she has misjudged everyone from the past few months.Deepak, urmila,Miss malpani and premchand all convince jaya to approach jai even as she realises her mistakes and reunites with jai.Jai in an attempt to revive her memory decorates his room with all precious moments of the both of them and Jai jaya happily reunite.
