Rybno-Slobodsky District (Russian: Ры́бно-Слобо́дский райо́н; Tatar: Балык Бистәсе районы) is an administrative[1] and municipal[4] district (raion), one of the forty-three in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. It is located in the center of the republic. The area of the district is 2,052 square kilometers (792 sq mi).[5] Its administrative center is the urban locality (an urban-type settlement) of Rybnaya Sloboda.[2] Population: 27,630 (2010 Census);[6] 29,653 (2002 Census);[9] 31,884 (1989 Census).[10] The population of Rybnaya Sloboda accounts for 27.8% of the district's total population.[6]
