Rosehill railway station is located on the Carlingford line, serving the Sydney suburb of Rosehill. It is served by Sydney Trains T6 Carlingford line services.
History
Rosehill station opened on 17 November 1888.[2] The station was relocated on 14 May 1959.[3]
It lies at the end of a double track section from the Main Western line junction at Clyde. The station has two platforms, a four car platform on the Carlingford branch, and a 16 car platform on the Sandown line, which is used by Rosehill Gardens Racecourse trains on selected racedays.
Proposed closure
The majority of the Carlingford railway line is proposed to be converted to light rail as part of the Parramatta Light Rail project. The two stations on the line that are not on the light rail route are Rosehill and Clyde. It is proposed to permanently close both the Carlingford and Sandown lines to enable light rail construction to proceed. This includes the closure of Rosehill station.[4]
