Roose railway station is a railway station that serves the suburb of Roose, which is in the town of Barrow-in-Furness in Cumbria, England. It is located on the Furness Line to Lancaster 1 34 miles (2.8 km) south of the main Barrow station.[1]

Facilities here are very basic - it is unstaffed and there are no permanent buildings present, other than standard shelters.[2] Travellers must buy tickets on the train or in advance, as there are no ticketing facilities on offer.[3] Train running information is provided by telephone and timetable posters. Step-free access to the platforms is available via a ramp on the south side from the nearby road bridge that also acts as the link between the two and directly from the adjacent road on the northbound side.[4][2]

Services

Roose is served by Northern, who operate a basic hourly service with some two hour gaps between Barrow-in-Furness and Lancaster. Certain trains are extended northwards to Workington and Carlisle and several southbound ones are extended to Preston or Manchester Airport.[1] A similar service operates on Sundays.
