Repyt

Repyt was an ancient Egyptian goddess.[1], [2] She was normally portrayed as a lioness goddess of Egypt.[3]

In ancient times there was a town which was called Hwt-Repyt and renamed Athribis by the Greeks when it began to grow in importance. The site was excavated by Petrie in 1900. Now it is called Wannina is a town-site on the west bank of the Nile about 10km south-west of Sohag. [4]
