René Antonio Quintero Ramos (Mexico City, 18 February 1985) he is a Mexican actuary and entrepreneur. He is one of the founders of Black Ecco Group, a new enterprise model defined as a Communitarian Private Equity with participation in Information technologies, Foods & Drinks and Real Estate[1].

Origins

Born in Mexico City, he studied Actuarial Science in the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM). In 2017 he concluded the Senior Management Program at the Instituto Panamericano de Alta Dirección de Empresa. He is interested in the development of companies that use technology[2] and finances.

Professional activity

In 2010 René Quintero and his business partners James Kramer and Mauricio Martínez found the conglomerate Black Ecco Group. In this year René Quintero becomes Chief Executive Officer of the group [3]. He is invited by the Secretaría de Economía as a speaker to talk about his experience in tenders with government in Expo Compras 2014[4]. In 2015 he is invited to the press conference prior to start the Semana Nacional del Emprendedor sponsored by the Instituto Nacional del Emprendedor (INADEM)[5] . Days later, he participates in the same event with his conference: “Emprende con tecnología, sé eficiente y productivo”[6] , where he talks about the importance of applying passion in business and how failures are part of the entrepreneurship process. In 2017 the structure of Black Ecco Group evolves and René Quintero and his business partners decide to named it as a Communitarian Private Equity, because it gathers and mixes characteristics of Private Equity, Business incubator and Community. Black Ecco Group is mostly dedicated at information technology. René Quintero is interested in developing this area in Mexico. This is this how he justifies the importance of being at the forefront in technology:

Estamos viviendo una revolución digital en la que se generan nuevos paradigmas disruptivos, principalmente en los negocios, no importa el área, la tecnología es el nuevo insumo básico que marca un nuevo ritmo y reglas […].

We are living a digital revolution that generates new disruptive paradigms, mainly in the business. It doesn’t matter the area, technology is the last basic supply that establishes the new rules and rhythm [...]., [7].
