Black Ecco Group is a Mexican conglomerate that started, and currently works in, the areas of IT and foods. It was founded in 2010 as an IT company by Rene Quintero, James Kramer Ugarte and Mauricio Martinez in Mexico City, Mexico. It has expanded to the United States.

History

The conglomerate was founded in 2010 by Rene Quintero, James Kramer Ugarte, both 24 at the time, and Mauricio Martinez after leaving their studies. They decided to venture into the entrepreneurship world starting a company devoted to the electronic purchase and sale of technological items. In 2012, they decided to enter the industry of restaurants, and since the co-founder Rene Quintero's parents were from the Mexican state of Jalisco, they decided to start a restaurant inspired in his roots, called Las Ahogadas de Jalisco. In 2013, the conglomerate, that by then had 4 restaurants and 3 brands, decided to make its first acquisition and bought Initiativas Gastronomicas Mexican Food SAPI de CV, owner of restaurants La Chinampa and La Sonorita.

During 2014, the company decided to open its first offices outside of the Federal District, in the state of Tabasco, with the intention of giving coverage to Southeastern Mexico regarding their technological requests. At same time, their food business grew and, by the end of the year, had 8 branches. Regarding both co-founder's beliefs that Mexico lacked entrepreneurs, in 2014, they decided to purchase the Fundación México Diferente AC (FUMED), and give it a twist, to heavily promote the idea of entrepreneurship and consultancy to SMEs.

In 2015 the company expanded to a foreign country for the first time by opening offices in the state of Nevada. Likewise, in early 2015, they acquired Movil Evolution SA de CV, a digital company that expanded the amount of technological products offered by Black Ecco Group.

Black Ecco IT is one of Black Ecco Group's divisions, which focuses in IT, having Black Ecco LLC, BSIT, Computianguis, Rentec, and Movil Evolution as subsidiaries.

Black Ecco LLC

Black Ecco LLC is a company established in the United States, specifically in the state of Nevada, that focuses on the purchase and sale of computers. It's a company that focuses on carrying out the import and export of the products that Black Ecco Group sells in Mexico.[1]

Computianguis

Computianguis S.A. de C.V. is a company that works in the purchase, sale, and lease of computers. The company has online shops for the sale of its products. Its main customers are private companies and dependencies of the federal, state and municipal government.[2]

Joint Venture

As a way to expand the choice of products that the company offers, in 2015 they decided to own 50% of the shares in the companies Rentec Leasing SAPI de C.V. and Movil Evolution SA de C.V, while the other 50% of shares was owned by Mauricio Martínez Vargas.

Rentec

Rentec Leasing SAPI de C.V. is a company focused in the lease of computers for 24 months. The solutions that it offers are used in the industry of production of events, expos and fairs.[3]

Movil Evolution

Movil Evolution is a Mexican company focused in technological innovation, as well as services in the area of advertising and communication. The company has also created 360° videos, interactive tables, and apps for mobile devices.[4]

Black Ecco A&B

Black Ecco Alimentos & Bebidas is one of Black Ecco Group's divisions, which focuses in restaurants (foods and drinks), having La Chinampa, La Infame, Las Ahogadas de Jalisco, La Sonorita, and Distribuidora Prime Sonora as subsidiaries.

Las Ahogadas de Jalisco

Las Ahogadas de Jalisco GORAD is a Mexican restaurant focused in the Mexican state of Jalisco's cuisine (such as Tortas ahogadas, birria and pozole).[5]

Joint Venture

As a way to expand in the restaurant industry, in 2014 they decided to acquire 50% of the shares of Iniciativas Gastronómicas Mexican Food SAPI de CV andof Distribuidora Prime Sonora SAPI de CV, while Diego Castillo Rangel owned the other 50% of shares.

Iniciativas Gastronómicas Mexican Food

Iniciativas Gastronómicas Mexican Food SAPI de CV is a company that owns restaurants La Chinampa and La Sonorita, but it also offers catering services.

La Chinampa

La Chinampa is a Mexican food restaurant (as in burritos, tacos, costras, and tortas). All the meat is brought from the Mexican state of Sonora. It currently owns 5 restaurants in Mexico City.

La Sonorita is a Mexican food restaurant that sells meat from the Mexican state of Sonora.

Distribuidora Prime Sonora

Distribuidora Prime Sonora SAPI de CV (DPS) is a company that focuses on the purchase, production, distribution and logistics of all the products needed in Black Ecco A&B's restaurants. Distribuidora Prime Sonora also supplies GOR's restaurants (Las Ahogadas de Jalisco, La Infame) and a few restaurants not owned by Black Ecco Group.

Fundación México Diferente A.C. (FUMED)

Fundación México Diferente A.C. (FUMED) is a non-profit private organization with the goal of promoting the concept of entrepreneurship in Mexican society, as a way to improve the Mexican economy. It has James Kramer Ugarte as president.
