R. Doraikkannu (born 28 March 1948) is an Indian politician and incumbent member of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from the Papanasam constituency. As a member of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam party, he was elected from Papanasam in the 2006,[1] 2011[2] and 2016 elections.[3]

Jayalalithaa appointed Doraikkannu as Minister for Agriculture and Animal Husbandry in May 2016. This was his first cabinet post in the Government of Tamil Nadu..[4]

Doraikkannu was born on 28 March 1948 in Rajagiri. He has a BA degree and is married with six children.[5]
