Pernia Qureshi is an Indian stylist and fashion entrepreneur.[3] A stylist with Harper’s Bazaar, Elle & Conde Nast in New York & New Delhi. Pernia has also ventured into designing costumes for Bollywood, namely the film Aisha.[4] She created and launched Pernia’s Pop-Up Shop in 2012, an e-commerce website that showcases over 500 designers, and delivers worldwide.

Pernia has authored a fashion style guide called Be Stylish with Pernia Qureshi. Published by Random House India, the book gives guidance on how to understand and hone one’s personal style.

Early days

Pernia is a formally trained Kuchipudi dancer, under the renowned dance couple Raja-Radha Reddy.[5] She has performed at multiple dance recitals across India with performances of Sufi music by Abida Parveen, and dance transliteration of the Urdu poems of Minu Bakshi.[6]

Acting career

Pernia incorporates her talent into the courtesan she plays in Muzaffar Ali's periodical drama film Jaanisaar opposite Imran Abbas Naqvi,[7] a period drama set in pre-Independence India,[8] as a courtesan.[9] The movie was released in August 7, 2015.[8]

Personal life

Qureshi was born in Lahore, Pakistan[1] to an Indian father hailing from Rampur, Moin Qureshi, and Pakistani mother, Nasreen Qureshi. Her mother is also actress working in Pakistani Dramas.

In 2011, Qureshi got married to Arjun Prasad, a London-based, Indian Charted Accountant, the couple got divorced in 2012.[2]
