Muzaffar Ali (born 21 October 1944), is an Indian filmmaker,[1] fashion designer, poet, artist, music-lover, revivalist, and social worker. He belongs to the Muslim Rajput royal house of Kotwara in India.

Muzaffar Ali had a successful career as a filmmaker.[2] His Vinod Khanna-Dimple Kapadia starrer Zooni is still unreleased.[3][4]

Personal life

Muzaffar Ali attended the La Martiniere college in Lucknow.[5] His father was the Raja of Kotwara, an estate in the Gola Gokaran Nath Subdivision of the Lakhimpur Kheri district in Uttar Pradesh, and his mother was from a noble clan settled in the neighbouring Sheikhupur, Badaun.

He is married to Mira.[6] His previous marriage was to Subhashini Ali. His son, the film director Shaad Ali, was born from this marriage. His first marriage was to Geeti Sen, an art historian and editor of the ITC Quarterly. They have a son Murad Ali.
