Seeta takes the responsibility of Raju. Papayya (K. V. S. Sarma) their neighbor gives them shelter. Papayya's wife Tayaru (Chaya Devi) and her sister Sundaramma (Suryakantham) are shrewd women and they behave rudely towards Seeta. Papayya’s son Vasu (Amarnath) is a kind-hearted person and he loves Seeta. Knowing this, Papayya blames Seeta. Self-esteemed Seeta leaves his house and tells Vasu to forget her. Annoyed, Vasu quarrels with his father and he also leaves the house. Sundaramma reaches to her distant relative Rao Saheb Govind Rao's (Relangi) house along with her son Hanumathu. Sarabhaiah (Ramana Reddy) a thief, settles at Rao Saheb's house in a disguised form of a saint. Both Sundaramma and Sarabhaiah steals petty items in the house.

Years roll by, Seeta makes brother Raju (N. T. Rama Rao) educated. Saroja (Raja Sulochana), an arrogant woman is the pampered daughter of Rao Saheb. Raju is in search of a part-time job to reduce his sister's burden and he gets a job as a tuition teacher to Saroja at Rao Saheb's house. Saroja loves Raju, but he stops working to escape from her. Saroja convinces her father and marries Raju. Raju does not want to stay at Rao Saheb’s house, he gets a job in the city and leaves along with Saroja and Seeta. Saroja could not adjust at Raju’s house because there are no facilities. Moreover, she does not like Raju giving more preference to Seeta. Meanwhile, Vasu becomes a Police officer and he is in search of Sarabhaiah. Rangaiah is also released from jail.

Meanwhile, Sundaramma goes to Saroja's house when Raju is in camp. On that night, she steals jewelry of Saroja and gives it to Sarabhaiah. Seeta observes this and obstructs her, but Sundaramma cleverly throws the blame on Seeta, which Saroja also believes. Insulted, Seeta leaves the house in grief. Raju returns from camp. Knowing about this, he scolds Saroja, she makes a break with him and leaves to her father's house. Raju keeps office money at home and goes in search of Seeta, Sundaramma steals that too. When Saroja reaches home, Rao Saheb slaps her, makes her realize the mistake and takes her back. Simultaneously, Seeta tries to commit suicide, fortunately, she is saved by Rangaiah and he recognizes her. At the same time, Raju arrives there and sees his sister in an unconscious state and takes her home. Police arrest Raju when they come back.
