PT. Pelita Air Service, usually shortened to Pelita Air, is an airline based in Jakarta, Indonesia.[1] It operates on behalf of the state oil company Pertamina and provides executive transport, charters, oil and gas support operations and general Aviation Services. Its main base is Pondok Cabe Airport.[2] Pelita Air is listed in category 1 by Indonesian Civil Aviation Authority for airline safety quality.[3]
History
The airline was established in 1963 and started operations on 24 January 1970. It has been run as a standalone subsidiary since 1981. Pelita Air is owned by Pertamina (90%) and Patra Jasa (10%).[2]

Accidents and incidents
On 2 January 1990, while en route to Palembang, a CASA 212 operated by Pelita Air experienced an engine trouble. The aircraft ditched and sank into Java sea. 7 people were killed. [7]
