Padhrar (Urdu: پدهراڑ) is a village and union council (an administrative subdivision) of Khushab District located in Punjab, Pakistan.[1] It is part of Khushab tehsil. The village of Padhrar is located at the beginning of Soon Valley, which leads to the mountain peak of Sakesar. The village is an important village of Khushab from the political perspective. The Awan tribe of the town have an active role in the politics of Khushab district.

A shrine of prominent Sheikh spiritual leader Baba Muhammad Shah Karori and his son Baba Hashim Darya Shah of Syed Hashmi Zanibia family are in Padhrar. A renowned journalist and spiritual leader Syed Abdulah Shah Daily Alfalah Peshawar is the son of Baba Hashim Darya Shah and grandson of Baba Muhammad Shah Karori. Pir Muhammad Rafique Shah grandson of Bawa Hashim Dariya Shah was Sajjada Nasheen of Darbar Aliya Baba Muhammad Shah Karori while the current pir e tareqat rehbar e shariat is pir syed zahid hussain shah.Syed Muhammad Abdul Basit Shah and all others of peshawar like yousef shah and ozair shah and shamsiduhaa shah are also one of the sajjada nasheens of the shrine.Syed Muhammad Abdulah Shah have also given early biographical details of baba Muhammad shah karori in his book "Meri dastan".Many people of padhrar believe that baba muhammad shah was associated with celestial bodies(jinn) and used to teach them the Quran in his mosque .The people of this village believe that Hashim Darya Shah who was the son of Muhammad Shah Karori saved this village from the disease of plague which was spreaded by rats which caused 10 people to die everyday. He had done this by sitting on his horse and recited surah muzammil all over padhrar.He did this act for 7 days and on the seventh day he fall off from his horse and was revealed dead and from that day the plague was cured.Syed Mubashir Hussain Shah,who was the descendant of Muhammad Shah Karori was SPO in Motorway police was martyred during his duty in bhera as he had a combat against some theives who were stealing money in a shop and were armed.Mubashir without thinking about his life started to fight against the theives to save the shopkeeper,but during combat he was shooted from back.Grave of Mubashir is located in padhrar. Pail is another village located in union council and the shrine of Hazrat pir khawja noori sarkar is in Pail Village very near to padhrar. Hashmi Qureshi, Pir and Awan are main cast in Pail.

The sons and grandsons of Malik Karam Bakhsh Awan (late), Sumeera Malik, Malik Tahir Sarfraz Awan and Malik Umer Aslam Awan are some of the political figures belonging to the town. Another political figure was Malik Muzammil Ahmed Awan (died early February 2017).

Geography

The village is located at an equal distance of 55 kilometers from two districts of Khushab and Chakwal. The Kalarkahar lake is 30 kilometers and Talagang is about 40-45 kilometers from this town. It is the last village of Khushab district moving from Sargodha-Khushab to Chakwal-Rawalpindi.
