National Highway 216 (NH 216) (previously:NH 214 & NH 214A) is a National Highway in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The former highways of NH 214 and 214A were merged and renanmed to NH 216. It starts from NH 16 junction at Kattipudi and meets NH 16 again at Ongole, in the state of Andhra Pradesh.[1] Visakhapatnam - Kakinada Petro Chemical Corridor was proposed along this highway.Land survey and acquisition process is on track[2]
Route
The highway has a total length of 391.289 kilometres (243.136 mi).[1] It passes through the districts of East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur and Prakasham.
NHAI taken up widening process of this highway into two lane with paved shoulders throughout the length. Widening works are going on in 9 packages at an estimated cost of 3500 Cr and is expected to be completed by the ending of 2018.
