Zeba Bakhtiar (Urdu: زيبا بختيار) is a Pakistani film and television actress and a television director. She made her television debut with a Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV) drama play, Anarkali (1988).[1] She made her Bollywood debut in Henna in 1991.[2] She is also known for her marriage to Adnan Sami, divorce and custody battles.[2]

Acting career

After performing in the TV play Anarkali (1988), she appeared in the movie Henna (1991), produced and directed by Randhir Kapoor in India. For her performance in the film Sargam (1995) she won the Nigar Award.

Bakhtiar also appeared in Indian films Mohabbat Ki Arzoo (1994), Stuntman (1994), Jai Vikraanta (1995) which were not successful. She then returned to Pakistan in Muqadama (1996), Chief Sahib (1996), Qaid (1996) and Babu (2001). She directed Babu in 2001, which was not successful.

Bakhtiar also appeared in television serials. She portrayed a handicapped girl in Pehli See Mohabbat and also appeared in Lollywood films Kundi and Sargam.

Personal life

Bakhtiar is the daughter of former attorney general Yahya Bakhtiar.[3] Her mother is of Hungarian descent while her father is an ethnic Pashtun from Quetta. Bakhtiar married singer Adnan Sami but they divorced in 1997. They have a son together named Azaan.[2][1][4]
