Mister World 1996 the first edition of the Mister World Pageant was held on September 20, 1996,[1] in Istanbul, Turkey. About 50 countries competed for the title. Tom Nuyens of Belgium crowned as the very first Mister World in 1996.

Award
Felix Chavapri of Botswana won the Personality Award becoming the first African awardist in Mister World History. However, due to his fall on the ramp during the preliminaries, he was unplaced at the finals, ending in 12th place.
