Miss World Bangladesh is the national beauty pageant of Bangladesh. The event was created to give Bangladesh the opportunity to participate in the "Miss World" pageant.[1] In October 2017, Jannatul Nayeem Avril became the first ever Miss World Bangladesh. She was stripped of her title one week later, after it was discovered that she was not 16, but 27 years old[2] and had been previously married[3]. Jessia Islam, the first runner-up, was declared the winner and represented Bangladesh at Miss World 2017 where she placed in the top 40.[4] In October 2018, Jannatul Ferdous Oishi won the title of 'Miss World Bangladesh 2018' and she will participate in 'Miss World 2018' in China.

About the Event

Antar Showbiz and Omicon Entertainment created Miss World Bangladesh to be the country's first nationwide pageant. The event's mission is to support the empowerment of women and the opportunity to represent Bangladesh at an international level.
