The Melaka Straits Mosque (Malay: Masjid Selat Melaka) is a mosque located on the man-made Malacca Island in Malacca City, Malacca, Malaysia.[1] The construction cost of the mosque was about MYR10 million.[2]

History

The opening ceremony was performed on 24 November 2006 by the Supreme Ruler of Malaysia (Yang di-Pertuan Agong) Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Syed Putra Jamalullail.

Architecture

The mosque, which was built using the mix of Middle Eastern and Malay craftsmanship, looks like a floating structure if the water level is high.
