Matt W. Windschitl (born December 30, 1983) is the Iowa State Representative from the 17th District. A Republican, he has served in the Iowa House of Representatives since 2007, when he defeated Republican incumbent Paul Wilderdyke in a primary election. Windschitl studied gunsmithing at the Colorado School of Trades. He is a gunsmith and a conductor with the Union Pacific Railroad. He is also United States Marine Reservist and served a six-month tour in Iraq.
As of January 2013, Windschitl serves on several committees in the Iowa House – the Judiciary, Local Government, Veterans Affairs, and Ways and Means committees. He also serves as the chair of the Administration and Rules committee.
