Marcus Martin (born November 29, 1993) is an American football guard for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He played college football at USC.

High school career

Martin attended Crenshaw High School in Los Angeles, California. He was All-L.A. City Offensive Lineman of the Year and Los Angeles Times All-Star as a senior, helping Crenshaw win the 2010 L.A. City Division I championship.

Considered a three-star recruit by Rivals.com, Martin was rated as the 28th best offensive guard prospect of his class.[1]

College career

Martin attended the University of Southern California from 2011 to 2013. Martin spent his freshman and sophomore seasons as the Trojans left guard.[2] Prior to his junior season he was moved to center. He entered the 2014 NFL Draft after his junior season.[3][4]

San Francisco 49ers

Martin was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the third round, 70th overall, in the 2014 NFL Draft. He was the second center to be selected. In addition, he was one of three USC Trojans to be selected that year.[6]

Martin was placed on injured reserve on December 31, 2016.[7] Following the injury, Martin was waived by the 49ers on March 8, 2017.[8]

Cleveland Browns

On March 9, 2017, Martin was claimed off waivers by the Cleveland Browns.[9]

Dallas Cowboys

On March 26, 2018, Martin signed with the Dallas Cowboys.[10] He was placed on injured reserve on August 13, 2018 after suffering a season-ending toe injury.[11]
