MIB is an upcoming American science fiction action comedy film directed by F. Gary Gray from a screenplay written by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway. The film is a spin-off of the Men in Black film series, which is loosely based on the Malibu/Marvel comics of the same name by Lowell Cunningham. The film will star Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, Liam Neeson, Kumail Nanjiani, Rafe Spall, Rebecca Ferguson, and Emma Thompson. It is scheduled to be released by Sony Pictures Releasing on June 14, 2019.

Premise

A London-based team of Men in Black (MIB) secret agents become involved in a murder mystery that sends them traveling the globe.[2]

Cast

Rafe Spall and Rebecca Ferguson have been cast in undisclosed roles. Laurent & Larry Nicolas Bourgeois will also appear in the film.

Production

In February 2018, it was reported that Chris Hemsworth would star in the film, which would be directed by F. Gary Gray.[3] The following month, Hemsworth's Thor: Ragnarok co-star, Tessa Thompson joined the cast.[4] In May 2018, it was reported that Liam Neeson was in talks to star in the film as the head of the UK branch of the agency.[5] The film's script was written by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway and would be produced by Laurie MacDonald and Walter Parkes.[6] In June 2018, Kumail Nanjiani, Rafe Spall, and Les Twins were added to the cast of the film.[7][8]

Principal photography on the film began on July 9, 2018 in London.[9] Emma Thompson was announced as reprising her role as Agent O in the film later that month.[10] In August 2018, Rebecca Ferguson joined the cast of the film.[11]

Release

The MiB spin-off is scheduled to be released on June 14, 2019.[12] It was previously set for a May 17, 2019 release.[6]
