List of female governors in Russia

This is a list of women who served as heads (governors) of Federal subjects of Russia.

History

The first female Governor in Russia was Valentina Matviyenko who was Governor of Saint Petersburg from 2003 to 2011.

There are currently from 85 governors there are two female governor: Natalya Komarova of Khanty–Mansi Autonomous Okrug and Marina Kovtun of Murmansk Oblast. In addition, Vera Shcherbina is acting Governor of Sakhalin Oblast.
