Distilleries in Maryland produce a range of spirits in different styles that are marketed locally, regionally, and nationally. As of 2015 Maryland has 18 distilleries in operation or active development.
Distilling companies in Maryland vary in styles and sizes with some being offshoots of established wineries, some being developments from past brewers, and some being new establishments. In the United States at the end of 2014 there were 235 craft distilleries registered with the American Distillery Institute.[1]
