Kihniö is a municipality of Finland.

It is located in the region of Pirkanmaa. The municipality has a population of 1,971 (31 August 2017)[2] and covers an area of 390.50 square kilometres (150.77 sq mi) of which 33.39 km2 (12.89 sq mi) is water.[1] The population density is 5.52 inhabitants per square kilometre (14.3/sq mi).

The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
