Footnotes

The manga was directly published in tankōbon without magazine serialization. Kunio Nagatani participation is credited as composition since the manga consists of the main story by Nagai and of several texts written by Nagatani related to the Kamasutra, not to the main story.

Kamasutra (カーマスートラ, Kāmasūtora) is originally a four tankōbon manga (inspired by the homonymous book) created by Go Nagai and Kunio Nagatani and published by Tokuma Shoten in 1990. It was later adapted into an OVA, Kamasutra: The Ultimate Sex Adventure (究極のSEXアドベンチャー カーマスートラ, Kyūkyoku no Sekkusu Adobenchā Kāmasūtora), known in the United Kingdom as Kamasutra and in the United States as Kama Sutra and considered a hentai anime in the West.

Plot

Dr. Takeshi Aikawa is researching the location of an ancient Indian princess. An ancient Indian cult the Naga tribe, is also looking for her. Dr. Aikawa's grandson, Ryu, becomes involved when the cult ransacks his grandfather's apartment in search for information about the princess, attacking Ryu and his girlfriend Yukari in the process. Ryu goes to India to help his grandfather. There he finds his grandfather's assistant, Shakti, who introduces him to some of the techniques found in the ancient text called Kamasutra, consists of practical advice on sexual intercourse. While both fly towards Dr. Aikawa locations they are kidnapped by the Naga Tribe. Ryu is sexually drained and physically debilitated while in captivity, but his grandfather and adventurous Indy Yakko manage to save them. After that, Dr. Aikawa's group manages to find a golden cup-shaped artifact, the Sex Grail and with it they are able to locate and retrieve the frozen Indian princess named Surya, who was resting at the Himalayas, with using the grail to revive Surya from suspended animated state.

Meanwhile, having failed at obtaining the grail, the person behind the attacks, the old master, dies and the prince assumes the leadership of the tribe, killing the woman physician of the master in the process. He then personally kidnaps Surya with the intention of obtaining her love potion to be used with the grail. The prince then tries to obtain the grail and succeeds by deceiving Ryu into an exchange of the princess for the grail. After obtaining the grail (kidnapping Ryu in the process), he sends his henceman, Hige Godzilla to trick Yukari into abducting Surya for them. Yukari does so and is also captured and is jailed along with Ryu. Yakko, however, is able to track them down and rescues them before they are crushed by a trap. While trying to escape, they are confronted by the prince of Naga, who gives them a glimpse of his mystical power. Despite all of this, they still escape.

The prince, now in possession of the Sex Grail to married Surya, but during a wedding ceremony, he's interrupted by the attack of Austin, an American soldier who avenge his daughter, Jody, who is murdered by the prince. The prince manages to escape by the Garuda-shaped boat with Surya and the grail, but is soon followed by Austin, Dr. Aikawa, Yakko and Ryu. The prince opens a portal inside the waterfall using the Sex Grail to enter them into the hidden paradise called Shambhala. He is soon followed by Ryu and Yakko, who find a giant egg-shaped vessel, the Sacred Egg, floating like a sun. During this time, Dr. Aikawa finds another way of entering Shambhala along with Shakti, Yukari and Hige, by using the grail counterpart, a death grail, and join them in a foursome sexual position like an erotic sculpture in a wall of Khajuraho Temple. As the prince enter the Sacred Egg with princess Surya and the grail, Dr. Aikawa and his allies (who appear naked in foursome position) appear before him. Soon after, Ryu and Yakko also arrive and Ryu manages to catch up to the prince just as he enters the egg with Surya, in which the grail falls outside the egg, just as the Sacred Egg elevates itself towards into the space.

The prince and Ryu engage in a battle, but they are interrupted by the group of celestial angels who protect the egg, they give Ryu and the prince a final test to performed in group sex based on the Kamasutra, as only one can be together with Surya. Ryu decides that he wants to do it with her, and so the prince takes out of the egg by a Nāga-shaped hydra, killing him. The angels disappear, leave Surya and Ryu alone and they both engage in sex position with lust and desire. Having fulfilled its purpose, the Sacred Egg divides in two. One takes Surya and the other Ryu. By this time, Dr. Aikawa's group manages to get all of them back to Earth using the Garuda boat with the help of the Sex Grail. As they return, the egg containing Ryu returns while the other floats in the sky. Surya lying herself to eternal sleep, which a Sacred Egg gets smaller and attaches itself into the grail. After that, the Sex Grail and the Sacred Egg now is then returned to its original place, with Surya (and Ryu's DNA) inside and sealed into the god-like sculpture, while Ryu and his group leave India in safely.
