Kalyan Group was started in 1909 by T.S Kalyanrama Iyer [1] with a textile mill in Thrissur city. T.S. Kalyanaraman, was born in Thrissur district. He learned business from his father, he is also helping his father in his shop. After that he joined Sree Kerala Varma College, and select commerce as his major subject. In 1993 he started his own jewellery shop named Kalyan Jewellers in Thrissur with a capital of Rs 7.5 million. After that he expanded the business to 32+ showrooms all over South India. Kalyan Developers is also a prestigious venture from the house of kalyan Jewlleres, the largest jewellery chain in India (since 1993).

Kalyan Developers [2] [3] [4] [5] is venture by Kalyan Jewellers,[6] one of the leading Jewellers in India with 105 showrooms and a turnover of over Rs.10, 000 Crores. The decision to venture into the real estate business was because of the turmoil in the industry, which is marred by delays, disappointment and distrust.

Kalyan started off its 1st residential project at Thrissur, from where Kalyan had started off its journey, 100 years ago. In a short span, Kalyan already has projects in Thrissur[7] ,[8] Kottayam,[9][10] Trivandrum[11][12] [13]& Cochin [14] and over 5 lakh Sq.Ft under development. The company has also firmed up plans to enter into Calicut, Tiruvalla, Bangalore and Chennai markets.

In a short span the real estate division has achieved some significant milestones. It has been awarded CRISIL 6 Star[15] rating for the very first project (Kalyan Habitat).[16] Kalyan also bagged the Mathrubhumi Property Awards 2016-2017 under the category Outstanding High Rise project of Kerala.[17] The company has also been awarded “Debutant of the Year 2012” by Realtyplus magazine.
