Ishita Dutta (born 26 August 1990) is an Indian film and television actress, known for her role in the suspense thriller film Drishyam (2015) and the Hindi soap opera Ek Ghar Banaunga, which aired on Star Plus. She is the younger sister of actress Tanushree Dutta.[1]

Early life

Dutta was raised in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand in a Bengali Hindu family.[2] She attended D.B.M.S. English School in Jamshedpur, and studied Media Studies in Mumbai. Her sister, Tanushree Dutta, is also a model/actress known for winning the Femina Miss India title (2004).

Acting career

Dutta started her acting career with the 2012 Telugu film Chanakyudu, opposite Tanish. She and her sister Tanushree Dutta worked together in their next film, Yenidu Manasali, directed by Shrikanth H.R. and produced by Niyaaz Ahmed, but it was left incomplete and unreleased. She then played the leading role in the soap opera Ek Ghar Banaunga.[3] In 2016, she starred in Rishton Ka Saudagar – Baazigar opposite Vatsal Sheth.[4] She made her Bollywood debut playing a supporting role in the 2015 thriller Drishyam alongside actors Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Shriya Saran. She played the role of Devgn's character's daughter. She worked with Kapil Sharma in Firangi.

Personal life

Ishita Dutta married her longtime boyfriend and former co-star Vatsal Sheth on 28 November 2017 in Mumbai.[5]
