Indian Educational School, Kuwait [1]is a part of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, a premier institution in India. Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan was founded by a far-sighted visionary and a practical idealist, who was also one of the chief members of India's constituent assembly. The Bhavan has the blessings of Gandhiji.

Indian Educational School (IES) is a school affiliated with CBSE and is situated in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, Kuwait. It was founded in 2006. It is alternatively known as Bharatiya Vidya Bhavans and is often shorted to Bhavans. The students are termed as 'Bhavanites'.[2]

Facilities

It has a big swimming pool, two computer labs for students (Junior and Senior), science laboratories and two libraries (Junior and Senior).[3] In 2015, the school started a program called 'BSS' (Bhavans Service Scheme), which is meant to give the students who join it a feel similar to India's NCC and NSS.

Bhavans has three Second Language options: Hindi, French and Sanskrit (which can be selected from Class 5 onwards). The school offers two streams– Science and Commerce.[4]

Sports

Bhavans has extremely good sportsmanship and many teams that have played nationally. We have a Cricket team, Hockey team, Football team, Basketball team, Swimming team and so on. It is headed by Mr murugaiyan who plays internationally in hockey.
