Imposters is an American dark comedy television series. The show premiered February 7, 2017, on the Bravo cable network with a 10-episode season.[1] Announced in April 2015 as My So Called Wife,[2] series follows con artist Maddie, played by Inbar Lavi, who gets involved in relationships with men and women before leaving them "used and robbed of everything including their hearts".[3] On April 17, 2017, Bravo renewed the series for a second season,[4] which premiered on April 5, 2018.[5] On June 1, 2018, Bravo canceled the series after two seasons.[6]

Plot

Maddie Johnson (Inbar Lavi) is a con artist who works with Max (Brian Benben) and Sally (Katherine LaNasa) at the behest of a mysterious figure called "The Doctor" (Ray Proscia) who has teams of con artists working for him in multiple cities. Their method of operation is to make their targets (male or female) to fall in love with Maddie while ingraining themselves into their lives and then steal all their valuables shortly after marrying them. After Ezra Bloom (Rob Heaps) becomes the latest victim of their con, he is visited by Richard Evans (Parker Young), one of Maddie's previous targets, who is looking for her. Together they find Jules Langmore (Marianne Rendón), a lesbian artist, who also was married to Maddie before. The three decide to look for Maddie together and get their money back.

The trio manages to track Maddie down who was in the middle of trying to con an undercover FBI agent, Patrick Campbell (Stephen Bishop), whose team is trying to arrest the Doctor. For their plan, the FBI allows Patrick to use a ring with a saffron diamond, worth more than $1 million, to propose to Maddie. At the wedding, the trio, who teamed up with Maddie and Max, turns the tables on the FBI and steals the ring.

After failing to sell the ring, the trio flees to Mexico without the ring which Richard had hidden in his mother's house but is forced to return to the US when Max and Sally kidnap Ezra's parents. The Doctor forces the trio to work together with Max and Sally to get back the ring from the woman who unwittingly bought the hiding place. They manage to find the ring and decide to sell out the Doctor to Patrick in exchange for immunity. At a medical conference, the Doctor attends because he expects to be awarded a prize but is killed by Sally without the others knowing who in the mean time manage to erase the Doctor's information on them and steal his savings. In the end, the team splits up with the stolen money while Patrick arrests Maddie. Ezra, who kept some of the Doctor's burner phones, is seen answering a call reporting on a con in progress.
