Humsafar Express are completely 3-tier AC sleeper trains designed by Indian Railways. Their service profile includes long haul routes.

Background

This series of trains features side curtains on the corridors like 2AC which were removed from 3-tier AC sleepers.

Features

  • LED screen display are fitted to provide the passengers with information about the stations, train speed etc.,it also has announcement system as well.
  • Vending machines are kept for tea, coffee and milk. Charging ports for charging electronic devices such as mobiles, laptops etc.
  • More comfortable berths than the previous 3-tier AC sleeper rakes.
  • Each Compartments has Bio-toilets fitted in for proper disposal of human waste.
  • The exterior of coaches has a futuristic look with the use of Vinyl sheets.
  • Safety measures, in compartments such as introduction of smoke alarms and CCTV cameras are done.
  • Heating chamber and refrigerating box are fitted in each coach to preserve the food that was brought from home by the passengers.
  • Each and every coupe and side berth has curtains to maintain privacy.
  • Khadi bed rolls were provided.[1]
