"Gyalchester" is a song by Canadian rapper Drake from his album, More Life (2017).[2] The ninth track on the playlist, the song was written by Aubrey Graham, István Megyimorecz, Rico Brooks, and produced by iBeatz. The song features additional background vocals by Baka Not Nice,[3] who is one of two credited musicians on More Life. The term is a portmanteau of the patois-spoken word for girl or "gyal", merged with Manchester, perhaps indicating that beautiful women originate from that area.[4]

Chart performance

The song peaked at number 29 on the US Billboard Hot 100 as a new entry on the April 8, 2017 issue.

Live performances

On May 21, 2017, Drake performed "Gyalchester" at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards. The song's accompanying live performance later premiered on May 24, 2017 on Drake's Vevo account on YouTube.[6] As of July 13, 2017, it has received over 5.2 million views.[6]
