Great Lakes Mall

Great Lakes Mall is a shopping mall in Mentor, Ohio on Mentor Avenue (U.S. Route 20), approximately 20 miles (32 km) northeast of Cleveland. The mall includes stores such as Macy's, J.C. Penney, and Dillard's. A Dick's Sporting Goods store was added with new construction in 2014. The mall now has around 150 stores. The mall was opened in 1961 as a shopping strip. Later, the mall was expanded to become one of the oldest major enclosed shopping malls in Ohio.[1] Olive Garden, BJ's Brewhouse, Office Max, Max & Erma's, Barnes & Noble and Atlas Cinemas Stadium 16 are in the mall parking lot. The mall contains about 1 million square feet (90,000 m²). On May 28, 2014 it was announced by Simon Property Group that they would transfer Great Lakes Mall to its new spin off Washington Prime Group.[2] Washington Prime Group later became WP Glimcher. Dillard's North closed in May 2017, consolidating the men and women's sections into one building. Sears closed in September 2017 due to the store's lease ended.
