Forever Neverland is the upcoming second studio album by Danish singer and songwriter . It is scheduled to be released on 19 October 2018 by Columbia Records.[1] It is her first full-length body of work since her debut studio album No Mythologies to Follow (2014), and comes after her second EP When I Was Young (2017). The album was preceded four singles: "Nostalgia", "Sun in Our Eyes" featuring Diplo, "Way Down" and "Imaginary Friend".[2] The album will also feature collaborations of Charli XCX, What So Not and Empress Of.[3]

Background

A year after the release of her debut album, announced that she is working on her new album. On April 2015, MØ released a draft of the song in which was later authorized by Mads Kristiansen.[4] Later MØ traveled to New York to reunite with American DJ Diplo, where he later produced the song. On 15 October 2015, MØ finally released his single "Kamikaze" and it has reached the top 40 in Belgium and Denmark.[5]

MØ later traveled to Los Angeles to release a new song. She sent the lyrics to MNEK to produce the new song.[6] On 13 May 2016, she finally released the supposed second single of her upcoming album "Final Song" in which was reached to the top 5 in Denmark,[7] the top 20 in Australia, Norway[8] and the United Kingdom, and the top 100 in Canada and Sweden.

Later she joined SOPHIE, Benny Blanco and Cashmere Cat to realesed a new single. The song was released on 21 April 2017, the planned third single of the album was named "Nights with You" in wich was premiered on MistaJam's BBC Radio 1 show.[9]

On January 1, 2018, MØ explained in an interview how that her life changed after her collaboration with Major Lazer and DJ Snake for "Lean On", because the song becomes an international hit and MØ finally gained international fame.[10] Later she collaborated again with Major Lazer for "Cold Water" in which she also collaborated with Canadian singer Justin Bieber.[11] She also said that her EP "When I Was Young" is her first major major release following the success of both Major Lazer's "Lean On" and "Cold Water" featuring Justin Bieber.[12] She admitted that the new tracks might not be what new fans might expect following the two features and the others she's done since 2015, but that might not be such a bad. She has been working for four years on her new album, because after the success of "Lean On" and "Cold Water", MØ thinked that she needed to take a rest to later pass to the second phase of her album.[13][14]

On 2018, July 12, 2018 teased her second album with the releasing of her new single "Sun in Our Eyes". On September 7 she revelead the album’s cover and also revelead that the album will be released on October 19, 2018.
