First West Credit Union is led by Chief Executive Officer Launi Skinner and is British Columbia’s third-largest credit union with $10 billion in assets,[1] nearly 250,000 members and more than 1,700 employees. First West was formed in January 2010 when Envision Financial in Langley amalgamated with Valley First Credit Union based in Penticton. Enderby & District Credit Union based in Enderby, BC, joined First West in 2013 and Island Savings joined First West on January 1, 2015. First West is insured by the Credit Union Deposit Insurance Corporation of British Columbia.

First West operates 53 branches and 38 insurance offices under the following regional divisions:

First West’s other businesses lines include First West Capital, Envision Investment Services, Valley First Investment Services, Envision Insurance Services, Valley First Insurance Services, First West Leasing and Island Savings Insurance Services.

Other notable achievements

The founding credit unions that merged to form First West have both been recognized in previous years for significant achievements or contributions to their communities. Valley First is recognized for a longstanding tradition of supporting charities, organizations, and events, including, among others, Feed the Valley.[2] For eight years, The Globe and Mail's Report on Business Magazine has named Envision Financial one of the "50 Best Employers in Canada."[3] Island Savings also consistently achieved recognition among Aon Hewitt's "50 Best Employers in Canada."[4] First West is also designated as a Caring Company by Imagine Canada.[5]
