Judas Priest concert chronology

The Firepower World Tour is a worldwide concert tour by British heavy metal band Judas Priest, in support of the album Firepower. The first North American tour dates were announced on 23 October 2017 with Saxon and Black Star Riders as the supporting bands.[1] European tour dates were announced soon after with Megadeth as the support act. The band would also appear as a special guest for Ozzy Osbourne's performance in Lisbon on 2 July 2018 as part of Osbourne's final world tour.[2] The second North American tour dates were announced on 23 April 2018 as part of a co-headlining tour with Deep Purple.[3] The second European tour dates were announced on 3 September 2018 as the band were announced as special guests once again for Osbourne's final world tour.[4]

Background

On 12 February 2018, Glenn Tipton revealed that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and would step down from touring. According to the band, the disease's progression left him unable to perform the more challenging material. Tipton stated that he was still a member of Judas Priest despite his diagnosis and would not rule out future on-stage appearances. Producer and guitarist Andy Sneap would replace him for the tour.[5] Guitarist Richie Faulkner assured fans that Tipton would perform with the band again.[6] At the 20 March 2018 show in Newark, Tipton joined the band on stage where they performed "Metal Gods", "Breaking the Law" and "Living After Midnight",[7][8] then "Victim of Changes"[9] and "No Surrender"[10] on later dates. He would continue to appear on tour, performing only the encore songs, but would not perform on certain dates, depending on his health.[11][12]
