The Environment Trust for Richmond upon Thames, also known as the Environment Trust, is a registered charity[1] based at East Twickenham in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. Its area of work now also extends into the neighbouring London boroughs of Kingston and Hounslow. The Trust, whose patrons are Sir David Attenborough, Helen Baxendale, Gordon Buchanan, Bamber Gascoigne, Zac Goldsmith MP, Sir Donald Insall and Axel Scheffler,[3] seeks to ensure that "The people of Richmond and its neighbouring boroughs are actively engaged in improving, preserving and protecting their local environment".[4] Its board of trustees, chaired by John Anderson,[5] oversees the organisation's budget; in 2014 the Trust's income was £273,897.[1][2]
