The Electoral district of Malvern is an electorate of the Victorian Legislative Assembly[1] It is named for the suburb of Malvern and also includes Malvern East, Armadale, Kooyong and parts of Glen Iris and Toorak. The current member is Michael O'Brien of the Liberal Party, who replaced former Liberal leader Robert Doyle at the 2006 Victorian election. It has been held by the Liberals for its entire existence, and for most of that time has been one of the Liberals' safest seats in Melbourne. It is presently the safest Liberal seat in the capital, with a 16.3 percent swing required for Labor to win it.
