Edward John Vande Berg (born October 26, 1958) is a former Major League Baseball left-handed pitcher. He is an alumnus of Redlands High School and Arizona State University. Drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 13th round of the 1980 MLB amateur draft, Vande Berg would make his Major League Baseball debut with the Seattle Mariners on April 7, 1982, and appear in his final game on September 30, 1988.[1]In 1982, his rookie season, he led the major leagues in appearances with 78 and became the first of three straight Mariners to win the A.L. Rookie Pitcher of the year (Matt Young, 1983 and Mark Langston, 1984).
