Derek Anthony Klena (born October 3, 1991)[1][2] is an American actor and singer. He originated the role of Eddie Birdlace in the stage adaptation of Dogfight,[3] and played Fiyero Tigelaar in the 10th anniversary company of Wicked on Broadway.[4] He had made appearances on television series such as Law & Order: SVU, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and Blue Bloods.

In 2017, he originated the role of Dmitri in Anastasia on Broadway. In 2018, he played Nick Healy in Jagged Little Pill at the American Repertory Theatre in Cambridge, Massachusetts.[5]

Personal life

Derek was born in San Dimas, California, where he began performing locally at the age of 6. He also had a passion for baseball, playing in high school and for UCLA as a pitcher. He now resides in New York City, where he continues to perform on Broadway.

On October 1, 2017, Klena announced his engagement to longtime girlfriend Elycia Scriven.[6] On Saturday, September 15th 2018, the couple married in California.
