Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway is a proposed, 600-kilometre-long (370 mi) controlled-access expressway, which will connect Delhi with Katra in Jammu & Kashmir via Amritsar, Moga in Punjab. It will be constructed as part of the Bharatmala project.[1][2] The project is expected to cost Rs 60,000 crore.[3] M/s Feedback Infra have been appointed as DPR consultants to carry out alignment studies.[4]

Project details

It will be a greenfield super expressway and will pass through Haryana, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways of the UPA government planned to construct 10 expressways in the country under Bharatmala pariyojana, one of which would connect the national capital Delhi with Katra via Kharkhoda, Jind, Moga, Amritsar[5] [6]and expressway will merge into Western Peripheral Expressway near Kharkhoda in Sonipat district .[7][8][9]
