Remakes
Before AVM remade Deivapiravi in Hindi as Bindiya in the same year, Sivaji advised them not to remake the film as he felt it would not come well. However AVM ignored and went on to make the film in Hindi. Bindiya was a failure and many years later, Saravanan regretted ignoring Sivaji's advice.[5] The film was later remade in Sinhalese as Sekaya in 1965.[6]
