Darío Abdiel Agrazal Espinosa (born December 28, 1994) is a Panamanian professional baseball pitcher in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.

Agrazal signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates as an international free agent in July 2012. He made his professional debut in 2013 with the DSL Pirates and spent the whole season there, going 6–0 with a 2.40 ERA in 13 games (12 starts). In 2014, he played for the GCL Pirates where he was 3–4 with a 4.20 ERA in 12 starts, and in 2015, he pitched for the West Virginia Black Bears where he compiled a 6–5 record, 2.72 ERA, and 1.08 WHIP in 14 games started. Agrazal spent 2016 with the West Virginia Power where he was 8–12 with a 4.20 ERA in 27 starts and 2017 with the Bradenton Marauders where he posted a 5–3 record and 2.91 ERA in 14 games (13 starts), along with pitching in one game for the Altoona Curve.[1]

The Pirates added him to their 40-man roster after the 2017 season.[2] He began the 2018 season with Altoona.[3]

Stephen Alemais

Stephen Gavin Alemais (born April 12, 1995) is an American professional baseball Shortstop for the West Virginia Power of Minor League Baseball. He earned American Athletic Conference all-first team honors in 2016, and was selected in the third round of the 2016 MLB Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates with the 105th overall pick.

Alemais was born in the Bronx, New York and attended All Hallows High School. He earned all-state honors in his junior and senior years, and all-district, all-city, and all-league honors in his sophomore, junior, and senior year. He currently holds the schools' single season hit record[4]

He was selected in the third round of the 2016 draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates out of Tulane University and joined the teams' low-A affiliate, the West Virginia Black Bears after being drafted. He was later promoted to the teams' single-A affiliate the West Virginia Power[5] Alemais finished the 2016 season with a combined .249 batting average, one home run, and 20 RBIs between the two clubs. In 2017, Alemais played for the GCL Pirates, the Power, and the Bradenton Marauders, posting a .265 batting average with four home runs, 34 RBIs, and ten stolen bases in total.[6]

Alemais is listed as 6 feet 0 inches (1.83 m) and 190 pounds (86 kg). He has been described as a "defense first" shortstop, and has drawn slight player comparisons to Jean Segura[7]

Oneil Cruz

Oneil Cruz (born October 4, 1998) is a professional baseball player in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.

Cruz signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers in July 2015 as an international free agent for a $950,000 signing bonus.[8] Cruz made his professional debut in 2016 with DSL Dodgers 1. On July 31, 2017, the Dodgers traded Cruz and Angel German to the Pirates in exchange for Tony Watson.[9] Prior to the 2018 season, MLB.com named Cruz the 13th best prospect in the Pirates organization.[10]

Tyler Eppler

Tyler Austin Eppler (born January 5, 1993) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.

Eppler attended Navasota High School in Navasota, Texas and played college baseball at Texarkana College and Sam Houston State University.[11] He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the sixth round of the 2014 Major League Baseball Draft.[12] He signed with the Pirates on June 11, 2014 for a signing bonus worth $200,000.[13]

Eppler made his professional debut with the Jamestown Jammers,[14] pitching in 14 games, posting a 2.49 ERA. He played 2015 with the Bradenton Marauders and Altoona Curve, going 6–2 with a 3.14 ERA in 15 games. After the season he played in the Arizona Fall League. He spent 2016 with Altoona, pitching to a 9–1 record and 3.99 ERA in a career high 162.1 innings pitched. He spent 2017 with the Indianapolis Indians,[15] posting an 8–9 record with a 4.89 ERA.[16] Eppler returned to the Indians in 2018, going 13-6 with a 3.59 ERA in 28 games (25 starts).[17]

Ke'Bryan Hayes

Ke'Bryan Kobe Hayes (born January 28, 1997) is a third baseman in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.

Hayes was drafted by the Pirates out of Concordia Lutheran High School in the first round of the 2015 MLB draft. He is the son of Charlie Hayes.[18] He signed with Pittsburgh, and spent 2015 with both the GCL Pirates and the West Virginia Black Bears, batting a combined .308 with 20 RBIs in 56 games. Hayes spent 2016 with the West Virginia Power where he compiled a .263 average, six home runs, and 37 RBIs, and 2017 with the Bradenton Marauders where he batted .278 with two home runs and 43 RBIs.[19]

Jesús Liranzo

Jesús Manuel Liranzo Ramón (born March 7, 1995) is a Dominican professional baseball pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.

Liranzo signed with the Atlanta Braves in May 2012. He made his professional debut that year for the DSL Braves, but pitched in only one game. He returned there in 2013 but was released in June and then signed by the Baltimore Orioles, who assigned him to the DSL Orioles. In 12.2 innings pitched between both teams he was 0–1 with a 9.24 ERA. He did not pitch in 2014 due to injury. In 2015, he pitched for the DSL Orioles once again and compiled a 3–2 record, a 2.35 ERA, and a 1.23 WHIP in 38.1 relief innings pitched, and in 2016, he played for the Delmarva Shorebirds and the Bowie Baysox,[20] pitching to a combined 1–1 record and 1.87 ERA in 27 relief appearances between the two teams.

The Orioles added him to their 40-man roster after the season.[21] He spent 2017 with Bowie where he was 3–4 with a 4.85 ERA in 31 games (12 starts).[22]

Liranzo was designated for assignment on March 29, 2018. He was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers on April 2, 2018, in exchange for Luis Ysla[23] but the Dodgers designated him for assignment the next day[24] and he was claimed by the Pittsburgh Pirates.[25]

Jason Martin

Jason Martin (born September 5, 1995) is an American professional baseball outfielder in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.

Martin attended Orange Lutheran High School in Orange, California. He was drafted by the Houston Astros in the eighth round of the 2013 Major League Baseball Draft.[26] He signed and spent 2013 with the Gulf Coast Astros[27] where he batted .251 with 17 RBIs and 11 stolen bases in 50 games. In 2014, he played for both the Greeneville Astros and Tri-City ValleyCats, slashing .257/.338/.384 with one home run and 23 RBIs in 63 total games between the two teams, and in 2015, he played with the Quad Cities River Bandits where he compiled a .270 batting average with eight home runs and 57 RBIs in 105 games. Martin spent 2016 with the Lancaster JetHawks and slashed .270/.357/.533 with 23 home runs and 75 RBIs in 110 games.[28]

After the 2016 season, Martin played in the Arizona Fall League. In 2017, he played for the Buies Creek Astros and Corpus Christi Hooks[29] and batted .278 with 18 home runs, 66 RBIs, 35 doubles, and 16 stolen bases in 125 games.

On January 13, 2018, Martin was traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates (along with Joe Musgrove, Colin Moran and Michael Feliz) for Gerrit Cole.[30] He began 2018 with the Altoona Curve and was promoted to the Indianapolis Indians in June. In 127 total games between the two teams, he slashed .274/.337/.429 with 13 home runs and 55 RBIs.[31]

Wyatt Mathisen

Wyatt Lane Mathisen (born December 30, 1993) is a professional baseball player in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.

Mathisen attended Calallen High School in Corpus Christi, Texas. As a junior at Calallen, Mathisen was named to the All-State Tournament team, a District 31-4A MVP, a Max Prep All-American, a Perfect Game USA All-American, a USSSA All-American, a member of the USSSA 18u National team which competed internationally, the South Texas Player-of-the-Year and was a member of the Texas Rangers Area Code team. As a senior at Calallen, Mathisen hit .433 with 13 home runs and 40 RBI.[32] Mathisen was drafted by the Pirates in the second round of the 2012 Major League Baseball draft. Mathisen played shortstop in high school, but was drafted as a catcher. Mathisen broke a commitment to the University of Texas[33] by signing with the Pirates for a $746,300 signing bonus.[34]

In June 2012, Mathisen made his professional debut with the Gulf Coast League Pirates. In 45 games, he slashed .295/.388/.374 with one home run 15 RBIs. He spent 2013 with the West Virginia Power, Jamestown Jammers, and the Gulf Coast League Pirates where he batted a combined .228 with 15 RBIs in 48 games between both teams.

Prior to the 2014 season, Mathisen was converted from a catcher to a third baseman.[35] In 2014, he played for the Power where he compiled a .280 batting average with three home runs and 42 RBIs in 103 games, and in 2015, he played with the Bradenton Marauders where he batted .263 with four home runs and 34 RBIs in 118 games. Mathisen spent 2016 with Bradenton where he posted a .296 batting average with one home run and 18 RBIs in 36 games and he spent 2017 with the Altoona Curve where he compiled a .272 batting average with five home runs and 31 RBIs in 114 games.[36]

Calvin Mitchell

Calvin David Mitchell (born March 8, 1999) is an American professional baseball outfielder in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.

Mitchell graduated from Rancho Bernardo High School in San Diego, California, where he played four years of varsity baseball.[37] As a junior in 2016, he batted .371 with 12 home runs and 41 RBIs.[38] In 2017, as a senior, he batted .369 with 11 home runs and 34 RBIs.[39] For his high school career, he batted .337 with 29 home runs and 120 RBIs.[40] Mitchell committed to the University of San Diego to play college baseball for the San Diego Toreros baseball.[41] The Pittsburgh Pirates selected him in the second round (50th overall) of the 2017 MLB draft[42] and he signed for $1.4 million,[43] forging his commitment to USD.

After signing, Mitchell made his professional debut with the GCL Pirates. He spent the whole season there, batting .245 with two home runs and 20 RBIs in 43 games.[44] He spent 2018 with the West Virginia Power. He was named the South Atlantic League Player of the Week for April 16–22 after hitting .467 with one home run, nine RBIs, and a 1.233 OPS.[45] In 119 games for the Power, he hit .280 with ten home runs and 65 RBIs.[46]

Erich Weiss

Erich Collin Weiss (born September 11, 1991) is an American professional baseball infielder in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.

Weiss attedended Brenham High School and the University of Texas at Austin, where he played college baseball for the Texas Longhorns.[47] After his freshman year, The Oklahoman named him their Big 12 Conference Freshman of the Year.[48] The Pittsburgh Pirates selected Weiss in the 11th round, with the 329th overall selection, of the 2013 MLB draft. Weiss signed with the Pirates[49] and spent 2013 with the Jamestown Jammers where he batted slashed .273/.348/.364 with a .711 OPS in 41 games. In 2014, he played for the West Virginia Power where he compiled a .287 batting average with four home runs, 42 RBIs, 21 stolen bases, and 22 doubles in 130 games, and in 2015, he played with both the Bradenton Marauders and Altoona Curve, batting a combined .277 with three home runs and 63 RBIs in 129 total games between the two clubs. Weiss spent 2016 with Altoona, slashing .276/.352/.408 with six home runs, 65 RBIs, and a .759 OPS in 127 games, and 2017 with the Indianapolis Indians where he posted a .274 batting average with six home runs and 43 RBIs in 104 games.[50]

Weiss was a non-roster invitee to spring training in 2018. He spent the season with Indianapolis, batting .234 with five home runs and 21 RBIs in 76 games.[51]

Weiss is the son of Gary Weiss.[47]
