Dakneshwori Temple (Nepali language:डाक्नेश्वरी मन्दिर) is a famous Hindu temple and Shakti Peethas located in South-Eastern Nepal. The primary deity is Dakneshwori. It is situated in the Pato Ward, Dakneshwori Municipality, Saptari. This Temple is a main attraction for Nepal and Indian Pilgrims. People are likely to come here in Bada Dashain.[1] Some thousands of goats and are sacrificed here during the days in Dashain.[2]

History

The temple holds great historical, cultural and religious significance in locale and neighbors area. The statue of deity Dakneshwori Bhagwati have been kept in same place. The present structure of the temple was reconstructed in 90's.[2]

Pilgrimage

Every year, thousands of pilgrims from Nepal, India and other countries visit Dakneshwori Temple to worship the Bhagawati. During the festivals of Dashain, there is presence of even more worshipers.[3]
