Cool Springs, Tennessee

Cool Springs is a major commercial center located primarily within the Franklin, Tennessee city limits, though northern portions of Cool Springs fall within the city limits of Brentwood. located in Williamson County, Tennessee. It is bordered by Mack C. Hatcher Parkway to the west, Carothers Parkway to the east, Moore's Lane to the north, and Liberty Pike to the south. The main roads through the area are Cool Springs Boulevard and Mallory Lane, with over thirty-three thousand and twenty thousand cars per day respectively.[1]

The commercial center primarily serves Williamson and southern Davidson Counties, the most affluent parts of the Nashville metropolitan area, though it is considered a regional center, drawing shoppers and clients from all around the Middle Tennessee, Southern Kentucky, and North Alabama areas.

The upscale development grew around the Cool Springs Galleria shopping mall, which first opened to the public in August 1991. The area has since expanded to encompass land on both sides of Interstate 65 and includes several luxury hotels, strip malls, business parks, mid-rise office buildings, big-box retailers, low-rise apartments, condominiums, restaurants, and car dealerships.

Cool Springs has grown so large, many area residents consider it separate from the two cities in which it lies. The Cool Springs area is home to many major companies including Healthways, Nissan North America, MedSolutions, UBS, CKE Restaurants,[2] Community Health Systems, Mars and Tasti D-Lite. There are over 200 restaurants in Cool Springs including J. Alexander's, Bonefish Grill, Moe's, Burger Up, Pie Five, Panda Express, Pei Wei, Culver's, Brick Tops, Wild Ginger, Peking Palace, Garcia's, Jose's, Molinari's, Sperry's, Old Chicago, Drakes, Buffalo Wild Wings, Stoney River Legendary Steaks, Carrabba's Italian Grill, Buca di Beppo, P. F. Chang's China Bistro, Chuy's, Outback Steakhouse, and Chedder's.

In 2008, Cool Springs became the home to Nissan North America's corporate headquarters.
